Sally Friedman Presents: Reflections on an Ordinary Life
May 20 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
Sally Friedman returns to Medford Leas to remind us of the importance of family, friends, and health, all within the context of our ordinary lives.
If you’ve ever loved a child, laughed until your sides hurt, cherished a friend, started a diet, flunked aerobics, said a tough goodbye, shared a dream, and/or worried about the mess the world is in… then Sally Friedman’s Reflections on an Ordinary Life will echo for you.
This program is for all of us who have felt jubilant, proud, vulnerable, disappointed, and in need of a hug. Sally Friedman writes – and speaks – from the soul. This program will be like a terrific conversation with a dear friend. Over the years, audiences have cheered for the mix of humor and honesty and for the pleasure of recognizing themselves in Sally’s world.
Sally Friedman is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, where she majored in English. After a brief stint teaching high school, Sally “retired” to raise a family. Several years later, she began writing personal essays and she has not stopped since. In 1984, Sally made her debut in the New York Times. Along with her essays, Sally also contributes features to newspapers and magazines about ordinary life — including relationships, health, homes and how we live our lives.
Sally’s work has appeared in Ladies Home Journal, Family Circle, The Huffington Post, New Jersey Monthly and AARP Magazine. Over 50 of her essays are in the Chicken Soup for the Soul series, and they also run in the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Star Ledger, the Princeton Packet and the Jewish Community Voice, among others.
