Laurence Van Meter
Laurence Van Meter attended Moorestown Friends School and has served as its head of school since 2001. Previously, he was headmaster of Darrow School in New Lebanon, NY, and director of advancement of George School in Newtown, Pennsylvania. Earlier, he served as the executive director of the Appalachian Trail Conference in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. He began his career in education as a teacher at The Mountain School in Vershire Center, Vermont. He is a corporation member of Haverford College and has served on the boards of Friends Council on Education, Wilmington Friends School, the Friends of Education Fund and Berkshire Country Day School. Larry earned his associate’s degree in applied science in woodworking and furniture design from the School for American Crafts of Rochester Institute of Technology, his BA from Hamilton College, and his MBA from the Amos Tuck School of Business Administration at Dartmouth College. He is a lifelong member of Moorestown Monthly Meeting. Larry currently serves on the Estaugh Board of Trustees long range planning committee.
