Fred Melroy, a recent retiree, knows the value of a dollar. He began working at a golf club at age fourteen and was able to pay his tuition to Rider University. Graduating with a degree in Finance, Fred was recruited by Dow Jones. He served our country for a year in Vietnam. Upon returning home, Fred’s career path moved into hospital financial administration. Working the next forty years and most recently retiring from NYU Medical Center, Fred now serves on several not for profit boards. Currently volunteering with Philadelphia Yearly Meeting on the Finance Committee, he also serves as treasurer for both Medford Monthly Meeting and Friends Journal.
